BedTred does not absorb water and will dry in as little as 20 minutes. It’s resistant to harsh chemicals, such as bleach, oil, battery acid and gasoline and is both fade and UV resistant. There’s nothing to trim and there’s no tools required to install or remove for cleaning. The BedTred material is super resistant to stains, odors, mold and mildew and the 1/4″ thick polypropylene foam insulates your interior from road noise and heat. Driver area features a tough plastic heel pad that’s stitched into place.
A vacuum, broom, brush or compressed air can be used to remove dirt, grime, sand, mulch etc. Because water will not harm the BedRug, pressure washing is also an effective way to clean a soiled BedRug. Although most acids will not harm the BedRug, baking soda should be applied immediately to neutralize the acid to ensure the safety of the paint on the vehicle. To clean tougher jobs such as gasoline, oil, chemicals, acid spills or leaks from your BedRug use detergent soap with degreaser and water, then rinse thoroughly. This detergent soap is used in most car wash locations with pressure washing equipment. The BedRug polypropylene closed-cell foam will not absorb water and the polypropylene fiber dries in minutes.
BedRug® is well known throughout the aftermarket, a name synonymous with high quality and innovation. Located in Old Hickory, Tennessee, BedRug got its start as a manufacturer of TPO foam (Thermoplastic PolyOlefin) composites. TPO foams offer a broad range of performance attributes, ranging from softness and flexibility to thermal stability – it is a closed cell construction, which will not absorb moisture, and is similar to the foam used in life jackets. It can be fabricated into a variety of parts that are suitable for exterior applications. Most importantly, it can be laminated to other substrates – and in BedRug’s case, those additional materials include 100% polypropylene plastic non-woven “carpet” and the TPO composite that creates BedTred. BedRug is environmentally safe – BedRug products are manufactured from a recyclable TPO/polypropylene composite. All unusable polypropylene materials are recycled into pellets and used in a wide variety of consumer goods. In addition, BedRug products do not contain any prohibited or declarable substances on the Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL). BedRug was purchased by THI Corp. in 2009.
